| The All-Systems Report | ||
By using this report alone, you can determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed on specific systems. Having identified only those servers that require further examination, you can now use the Single System Trend Report to validate and localise the issue. | ||
| The Single System Report | ||
This report would only be produced when the All-Systems report indicated that further examination is necessary (normally less than 5% of the systems). That's a 95% reduction in analysis work! The "Single Server" report could be produced on an ad-hoc basis, or alternatively on a strategy basis. E.g. any server over 60% full, the 5% most heavily loaded servers, any server that falls below 99% availability, any server that falls below SLA..... At this stage, you will know which servers need attention, which specific aspect needs attention and how urgently it needs attention. You can then specify and schedule the technical analysis required - and subsequently ensure that the issue was resolved. You are now managing your server effectively and with the minimum of effort and technical knowledge. But it doesn't end here.
