RG Solutions can store data from 100's of systems across years. You'd think that having all this data at your fingers would make it hard finding what you need. However RG Solutions has been designed to summarise this data and just present you with key performance indicators as a top level. All the data about IOs to disks, and what your programs were up to, is still available if you need it, but we don't force you to have to look past it to get what you want.

RG Solutions has an "explorer" look and feel to it. This makes it very easy to use and understand. Systems are navigated in the left hand pane, and the technical data is displayed on the right hand pane. The data can be filtered and sorted to get you the information you need quickly.

The 1st screen in RG Solutions shows all the same statistics that you get in the top level summary report along with extra fields to give you more information.

On the left you can see we have a number of different systems (ABCAPP1, ABCAPP2, ABCAPP3 etc etc...), ABCAPP1 has been opened up to display the days that RG Solutions has data for and as you can see that data is displayed on the right of the screen. Clicking on the head of a column will sort the data into order and so allow you to find the "Top" or "Bottom" day in 1 or 2 clicks. This sort ability is one of the most simple and powerful parts of RG Solutions, allowing you to instantly find the best/worst statistics on any screen.

Within each day entry are a number of data types. These contain the various pieces of data that get summarised into the data on this screen and in the reports. There is everything here from Disk IOs to Transaction breakdowns.

Here we are looking at the Process data for a Unix system. As you can see the interface is much the same as the Summary screen. However here we only display the data relating to one system on one day. Being displayed in the picture are the processes running in priority band 6 between 10:00 and 11:00. We can also organise the data so that we can look at the work done through the entire day rather than just in one hour.

As well as browsing there is a search facility. For instance searching on a particular process id will display that process through the day, allowing you to see the pattern of activity the process has through the day. All the search and sort features are available in all the data. So you can look for the activity on a disk unit, or response times for a particular type of transaction.

RG Solutions can also be modified to import performance data from almost any file. So if the operating system does not report transaction numbers and types but you have a log with this information, it's entirely possible we can import this log and view the transactions in exactly the same way as all the other data.
